The centre-back says that brotherly love will be put on the back burner at the weekend, as the Reds chase the first piece of domestic silverware of the season at Wembley
Liverpool defender
Kolo Toure has said he would do “anything” to help his side win the League Cup – including taking brother Yaya out.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will meet Manchester City in the Wembley showpiece on Sunday, and the Ivory Coast international is determined to secure the trophy.
“Big time, I’d take him out,” Kolo replied after being asked by the
BBC if he might foul his sibling to prevent a goal.
“I want to win, that’s it.
“I think he knows me, and he knows that if he’s going to score a goal, I’ll do anything I can do stop him. He knows that.”
Kolo was rested for Liverpool’s midweek Europa League fixture against Augsburg, which they won 1-0 to progress through to the last 16 of the competition, but it is anticipated that the 34-year-old will return to the starting XI for the weekend’s clash.
