Police IG Bans Officers From Checking Mobile Phones

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon
Arase has banned policemen from illegally
checking the phones of Nigerians under
any guise.
The ban was contained in a circular to
Police Commands across the country.
Though no reason has been given yet on
why the police boss came up with the ban,
some, however, are of the opinion that the
order became necessary due to some
elements in the force that could possibly
dent the image of the police by illegally
accessing mobile phones of Nigerians.
