The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
has described as wasted efforts the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan
and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains to Yoruba traditional
leaders to seek their support.
It would be recalled that the President recently paid a visit to
traditional rulers of Yourba land in what so many believed was aimed at
seeking their support for his re-election during the fast approaching
presidential poll.
The party, in a statement issued and signed by its Director of
Publicity, Research and Strategy, Osun State, Kunle Oyatomi, said the
people of the South West region will assess President Jonathan’s
administration by his record of achievements and not by new promises he
made to them.
The statement said Yoruba traditional leaders already know how bitter
their people and subjects are against Jonathan’s administration,
adding: “it is, therefore, a wasted effort for the President to be
frantically seeking the support of Yoruba traditional leaders.
