Barely two weeks into the new year and it
already feels like we have had enough
celebrity gossip and palaver to last us a
lifetime.
Starting from the Davido vs. baby mama/
Dele Momodu social media war, which
began in the last few days of 2015 and
reached its peak in the first week of 2016,
to the Olamide vs. Don Jazzy Headies stage
battle on January 1 (of all days) – here are
the top five celebrity feuds, as compiled by
Justin Ugonna, that have categorised the
new year already as the year of celebrity
beefs!
1. Davido’s Baby mama (public) drama

At the beginning of the year, fans thought
the dispute between Davido and his baby
mama Sophia Momodu was subsiding, we
didn’t know it was actually going to get
hotter. Last week, on January 7, Davido
(David Adeleke) and his father Deji Adeleke
went to the National Agency for the
Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons
(NAPTIP) after Sophie Momodu filed a
petition against the two of them. The pair
made a statement regarding the baby
mama issue.
According to Whistle Nigeria, Davido
accused his baby mama of lying to him
about her age and educational
qualification. He also stated that Sophie
Momodu slept with a friend of his father’s.
2. Olamide vs. Don Jazzy
#LeaveTrashForLAWMA

YBNL boss, Olamide and Mavin’s Boss, Don
Jazzy who are known to be really good
friends started the new year with a beef
that went really hard. This was consider at
the first beef of the year and as a matter of
fact it was at the headies award show
which took place on the 1st of January, the
first day of the first month of the year.
This beef was as a result of an award
category (THE NEXT RATED CATEGORY)
which involved members of the two parties
as nominees, after voting had ended, the
winner was announced at the show and
“REEKADO BANKS” Mavin Superstar
Emerged as the winner
For some reasons Olamide did not fully
agree to the decision made by the Headies
so he decided to pull a Kanye, he went up
to the stage and made comments that
showed he did not agree to the decision.
Later on Don Jazzy also had words for
Olamide. It didn’t just end there, later that
night Olamide took it to twitter to pour out
his anger. What a sad way to start the
year.
3. Cynthia Morgan mocks Davido on Snapchat

While people were still trying to
understand what really happened between
Olamide and Don jazzy. Cynthia Morgan
brewed up another beef between her and
the HKN boss, Davido.
She went on snapchat to curse at Davido
because he endorsed Lil Kesh as his
favourite artiste on the controversial Next
Rated category, which Cynthia Morgan was
equally nominated for. On the other hand
Davido had no other thing to say than to
wish the singer well.
4. Dammy Krane curses out Wizkid

In the series of rant, Dammy Krane
expressed his displeasure on his lack of
tolerance for thieves and accused Wizkid
of stealing something from him.
This accusation practically put the whole
industry in a state of shock as he didn’t
state exactly what the Starboy ac Wizkid
had stolen from him, he only ended his
rant with ‘Gbetititi. On the other hand we
haven’t heard anything from Wizkid so we
are still yet to know what he acytually stole
from Dammy.
The Twitter rant later earned Dammy
Krane an Injury on his Mouth when
Wizkid allegedly used a bottle on him at
Quilox few days ago.
5. Tanzanians chase Tekno off Instagram

TripleMG singer, Tekno, after a
performance in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania to
celebrate the new year, posted a selfie of
himself with a famous Tanzanian actress
and model, Lulu Elizabeth Michael , on his
Instagram page. The photo immediately
went viral, with many thinking they had
some sexual relationship.
The tone changed afterwards when the
singer’s Tanzanian fans bombarded his
page with ‘RIP’. According to the
comments, they claimed anyone who has
intimate relations with Lulu dies
mysteriously because she has been cursed
and is very diabolical. They noted that a lot
of her exes had died. And for this reason,
Tanzanians wrote RIP on all Tekno’s
recent Instagram photos. When the fans
refused to stop writing about his
impending death, Tekno deleted all the
photos.
